Four Rules of Firearms Safety
- Treat all firearms as LOADED, Always
- Never muzzle anything you are not willing to destroy.
- Keep your finger off the trigger and on the frame, unless you are on target and on sights.
- Be aware of your target and what is before it and what is beyond it.
Basics of iron sights
- Alignment *Proper Sight Alignment is placing the center tip of the front sight post in the exact center of the rear aperture.
*The front sight is equally aligned with the rear sight. With equal distance on both sides of the front sight and the top of the front sight is flush with the top of the rear sight.

Three A’s – Awareness, Avoidance, Assertiveness

- White – Oblivious
- Yellow – Relaxed and Alert
- Orange – Responding to a Potential Threat
- Red – Responding to a Confirmed Threat
- Black – Taking Action
