After taking several classes with the instructors at Steiner Academy of Firearms training, I have seen excellent improvement in my skills. I have since recommended them to several friends who are taking multiple classes as well. Straight-forward, clear instruction and their ability to adapt the classes for all student levels, with out boring an experienced student or confusing a new student, makes them an excellent source for group, semi-private, and private instruction.

I would reccomend Steiner Academy of Firearms Training to anyone of all backgrounds. The instructor (Shawn Steiner) has away with relating with each individual. He made class fun while learning @ the same time. Don't get me wrong, he is very serious & passionate about making sure no one leaves class ill equipped. I signed up for the CCW class at inner 10 and at first I was nervous, I’ve only shot a revolver once and didn’t know too much about handguns. However Shawn did an amazing job at simplifying things and putting them into a way that’s easily understandable. It’s a long class, but he made it engaging, interesting and overall just a fun experience. I left feeling like I had a whole lot more knowledge about handguns, the laws pertaining to handguns and the safety of them. I even felt a lot more comfortable holding and carrying a gun. I was also nervous about the shooting portion of the class being that I’ve never really shot before, Shawn told us that if we pay attention and do what he says, we’ll pass with flying colors. Like I said he made it so easy to understand and if I didn’t get it right away he would take the time to go over it until I did. When it was my turn to shoot, I think I surprised both him AND me. All thanks to his great teaching

I'm a total novice. Other than through a sales case I have never had any interactions with firearms, much less handled one. So I wanted the private instruction where I could go at my own pace, ask ridiculous questions and be comfortable in my ignorance.
I just finished last Friday and would HIGHLY recommend not only for someone looking to be better with firearms, but really anyone. It's skills that everyone should possess.
In just three short hours I learned how to properly and safely handle, load and fire a hand gun. Shawn is super patient, knowledgeable and a fantastic instructor. I'm absolutely going to signup for additional classes and have Steiner be the guidance I needed for my path from novice to capable. 5 stars.

How 3 Hours > 20 Hours of Practice | or | Passing the FBI Qualification Test in 3 Hours
Shawn's instruction enabled me to become a more competent shooter in 3 hours than all my hours training before. His instruction method is holistic with a focus on safety and understanding the mechanics of the firearm. With the fundamentals down we transitioned to basic grip, stance, and trigger control with Shawn correcting minor deficiencies at each step to build a solid foundation. Finally, when we moved to complex motions like drawing, presentation, and longer range shooting everything came together. As a native of Nebraska and resident of New York visiting for a few days, Shawn provided the quality instruction and customer service I needed in my short time back home.

I've been through many firearms classes in my fifteen years in the military, I attended the conceal carry class at Steiner Academy and was absolutely blown away. The classroom training was great and everything was explained to you about laws, rules etc; in the way you could relate. This whole class was by far the best firearms class I've ever been to and look forward to using my skills taught to me and working with Steiner Academy to further advance my training in the future. Again great job! Will definitely recommend!!

I took the Women's Handgun Primer course yesterday and am so happy I did! I had some experience with rifles, but had never even held a pistol, so knew I had a lot to learn. I decided to take a class instead of having my husband give me pointers and I was NOT disappointed! Shawn was a wonderful instructor. I didn't have to ask too many questions because he always provided the answer before I could ask. By the time I got up to the firing line, I was confident in what I was doing. The instructors were all fantastic and very attentive with giving pointers on the proper grip and stance when shooting, which I really needed help with. The class was so much fun, I can't wait to get into a shooting range on my own to apply everything that I learned. I am looking forward to taking the CCW class through Steiner when I am ready!

Excellent place to learn firearm training and ccw basics. I came from no experience whatsoever, and Shawn showed me everything I need to know to be safe while handling a firearm and how to properly conceal carry. I would absolutely recommend his classes to anyone needing to learn.

My husband and I took a conceal carry class as one of the steps to obtaining our CHP/CCW. Shawn Steiner was our instructor and he was amazing. He is beyond knowledgeable about the laws and regulations, and even better he wasn't boring. Shawn isn't just some dude that was looking for something to do and figured he'd teach about a gun permit. He is a badass. His experience and knowledge in both guns, and self defense far exceed many and he is very good at teaching that to others. Not all who know can teach. While also being very knowledgeable and good at sharing his knowledge, he was patient, which we all know is a hard attribute to come by when many aren't the sharpest and you're teaching them about guns which is a very serious thing. I would recommend anyone who wants to get a ccw, or sharpen their gun skills to go to Shawn Steiner.

This range is also pretty great. All of the people working there were super warm and welcoming. Some other ranges that we've been to make you feel like you're and idiot and their gun is better than yours. I think if you don't make me, the paying customer, feel welcome, so I come back to spend more money, you're the idiot. Inner 10 never made myself or my husband feel bad. They were excited to see us and to show us guns and were helpful while in the range. I haven't been to a range many times, haven't shot a gun many times, so I am still a bit nervous in that area, and the people working at Inner 10 made me feel more calm which made me get more experience with my gun and shooting. We will definitely be frequenting this shooting range often and are excited for the next time.

Inner 10 is the place to go to shoot! Shawn Steiner is the dude to take your CHP/CCW class from. I will send anyone I know to Inner 10 for both. Side note, don't let your CHP lapse!!!! It's expensive in both money and time. Also, sorry for the long sentences. I write, like I talk.

Shawn was supportive of my desire to learn how to shoot a gun from the day I walked in the door. I experienced some very EXTREME, embarrassing, and unexpected anxiety trying to shoot for the first time. He agreed to meet with me on an individual basis in hopes that it would help alleviate some of my anxiety. It did, but just a little. I told him many times how I wanted to quit and that shooting was probably just not for me. Every time, Shawn had something encouraging to say and continually urged me to keep working at it. We did make progress and I eventually learned how to be more comfortable with the gun in my hand and actually shooting it. All of that progress was because of Shawn; he was VERY patient with me and had answers for every one of my fears, concerns, and complaints. When I say patient, I mean it, we've been working on it for approximately 6 months!
Shawn could have told me a gazillion times to pack it in and try something else, but he never did. He told me that I could do it and it turns out he was right. He knows what he's talking about. Shawn also gave me countless tips and tricks to deal with all of my fears; very helpful things that I can continue to use in the future.
If someone is curious about how to SAFELY handle and shoot guns, then Shawn is the instructor you want. I am happy that I stuck with it and I am eternally grateful for Shawn's expertise and compassion.

I’ve done more than 10 hours of firearms training with Shawn, including my concealed carry course. He’s an effective, entertaining teacher who knows his stuff. He can pinpoint areas of improvement for each person and really takes time to answer whatever questions students have. And did I mention he’s funny?

I also did an intro to firearms workshop with a group of 7 other women, all at various comfort and ability levels. He gave everyone the individual attention and guidance they needed, and by the end of the workshop, everyone had gained not only confidence, but skill too - it was great watching these women feel empowered at conquering something new.

I found this class by Googling "CCW instructors near me." This is fortunate, as I found Shawn Steiner to be a patient and informative instructor with a "drill sergeant" sense of humor. He kept it human with every student and answered any questions they had respectfully. He facilitated difficult conversations about the right to defend one's self with clarity and has made me feel confident in my ability to not only conceal and draw my firearm, but also to know when I should do so.

There was also a very informative discussion about defense insurance that I think anyone who believes in their right to defend themselves and their families should be aware of.

In my opinion, this class is for anyone and all people are welcomed. You will just need to leave your biases at the door and allow yourself to think critically. I plan to practice and expand on the skill sets this course has provided me.1
